Concepts

The chapter on concept development shows how:

Kodaly, Dalcroze and Montessori, three giants of music pedagogy, each emphasised the multi-sensory approach to music education, for all pupils.

computer software is an excellent medium, through which to engage pupils in multi- sensory experiences.

in practice, the potential of computer technology in music learning has yet to be fully exploited.

computer software has, successfully, resourced the author's own teaching. Examples from pre-school to GCSE demonstrate the wide range of concepts addressed.

computer software facilitates development of music concepts and is particularly beneficial for pupils who suffer sensory deprivation due to physical disabilities.

Some analyses and reviews of software will be added here, in due course.
